Resumo: This research contributes to the organization of thought and space in the conception of architecture, also constituting as a response approach to the process of globalization and to its most diverse effects in the practice of architecture. To achieve this goal, it is proposed an approach to the practice of space organization, from a linguistic structure that is relevant in a semiotic point of view. The dissertation begins with the problematic of codification, language and visual communication as a modus operandi of the human being. The way in which these concepts manifest themselves in the practice of architecture is reviewed, in a trans-historical and trans-cultural view, accompanied by graphic demonstrations of patterns. It's intended to follow up on several earlier attempts, such as that of Christopher Alexander or Le Corbusier, among others, in order to create a renewed look at the phenomenon of architecture, by drawing parallels between linguistic structures and certain architectural patterns. The theoretical discussion focuses on the identification of the elements of an eventual systematized code of architecture, inspired by language, which rehearses parallels with phonology, morphology, a stylistic and calligraphy. It follows a qualitative type methodology and theoretical discussion, which is based on an analysis of various works of architecture, articles, and videos, and includes experimentations with images and collages.
