Resumo: | Objective of the study: The objective in this work was to carry out a critical review by the authors on the work of Filkelstein and Hambrick entitled Strategic Leadership: Top Executives and Their Effects on Organizations. Methodology / approach: The method in this paper was an interpretive analysis. We sought to relate the elements of the original text with other academic texts and to exercise a critical attitude towards the positions and definitions of Finkelstein and Hambrick. Originality / Relevance: The high-level study has been presented as an important source of knowledge for the understanding of the strategic decisions adopted by the organizations, and Finkelstein and Hambrick compile in this book the main research on the subject. Main results: The main results were the consistency, validity of the arguments, critical originality, and depth of analysis of the theme tying with other related scientific papers. Theoretical / methodological contributions: We intend to contribute to researchers on the topics of strategic leadership and higher echelon to delve into their respective themes in order to seek to develop related research on such topics with the weights and critiques of the strengths and weaknesses of the book of origin of this work. At the end of the paper we present some suggestions that may add to the discussion of the high level psychological and methodological theory dimensions. |
