Law, dispute and struggle for acknowledgement: : spanish emigration and the right to vote (2010-2022)

Resumo: This article analyses the political practices of Spanish immigrants who, in the context of several organisations, denounce inequalities in the exercise of the right to vote from abroad after the approval of the Organic Law 2/2011 that rules the General Electoral System. This research is part of a broader field of empirical studies that analyse the relations between politics and law upon which multiple demands are supported and political subjectivities are shaped. From a historical and ethnographical perspective, its aim is to prove how the political practices of these emigrants, based on the contentious discourse of human rights, shape different expressions of organized community in search of channels of transformation of the abovementioned law, and of their recognition as political subjects within the national political field.

La investigación forma parte de un amplio campo de estudios empíricos que analizan la relación entre política y derecho sobre la que se sostienen múltiples demandas y sobre la que se moldean subjetividades políticas. Desde una perspectiva histórico-etnográfica, el objetivo es demostrar cómo las prácticas políticas de estos emigrantes, basadas en el lenguaje contencioso de los derechos ciudadanos, conforman diferentes formas de comunidad organizada en búsqueda de vías de transformación de la mencionada ley.
