Knowledge and fishing spots: Reflections on knowledge and territory in traditional fishing in southern Brazil

Resumo: The present paper offers a discussion of knowledge and territory as central engagement practices for the development of fisheries. Based on the socioanthropological, anthropological and archaeological literature, we seek to understand the relationship between knowledge and places, highlighting how navigation experience, crossbreeding and marking as the way of building territories in lived and signified landscapes. It is, then, a theoretical path about these categories. We ended our reflection by proposing that fishermen can be understood through the constant and dialectical relationship between knowledge and territory, and that this articulation is manifested in movement, more specifically through navigation.

Procuro mi experiencia personal y de investigación para justificar el desarrollo de algunas de mis reflexiones sobre la centralidad de las marcas humanas en los paisajes y nuestra preocupación arqueológica por demostrar el impacto antrópico en el bosque. Intento calibrar estas nociones, con las formas de relación ribereña, indígena y tradicional con el mundo.O presente artigo propõe uma discussão sobre conhecimento e território como práticas de engajamento centrais para o desenvolvimento da pesca. A partir da literatura socioantropológica, antropológica e arqueológica buscamos entender a relação entre os saberes e os lugares, destacando as experiências de navegação, mestrança e marcação como o modo de construção dos territórios em paisagens vivenciadas e significadas. Trata-se, então, de um percurso teórico sobre essas categorias.
