Resumo: Introduction: Labor stressors are those related to the working conditions that come from the relationship between the worker and his work functions, leading to psychological disorders or physical damage within the health personnel, which can lead to absenteeism or lack of performance. job functions. Objective: To identify the stressors that affect the normal development of care functions in nursing staff. Methodology: a descriptive design, quantitative cross-sectional approach was used, 101 nurses who work in different services of the Ambato General Hospital were inquired through the Occupational Stress Questionnaire for Nursing. Results: the main results show that 96% correspond to the female gender, married (58%) and range from 31 to 40 years; services with the highest participation: surgical center (25%), neonatology (15%) and ICU (13%) with a working time of less than 1 year. 61% cannot perform their nursing tasks and do not share feelings with other colleagues, 70% presented psychological stressors related to the death and suffering of a patient, finally 58% of nurses ever presented social stressors referring to criticism from a doctor. Conclusion: Considering the stressors mentioned, it was identified that the main sources of absenteeism of health personnel are closely linked to psychological stressors linked to the death of a patient, fear of making mistakes in their care and the controversy of lack of personnel or help to other services, hindering the normal development of the function in health care.

Objetivo: Identificar los estresores que afectan el normal desarrollo de las funciones asistenciales en el personal de enfermería. Metodología: utilizó un diseño descriptivo, enfoque cuantitativo de corte transversal, se indagó a 101 enfermeras que laboran en diferentes servicios del Hospital General Ambato mediante el Cuestionario Estresores Laborales para Enfermería. Resultados: los principales resultados muestran que el 96% corresponde al género femenino, casados (58%) y oscilan de entre 31 a 40 años; servicios con mayor participación: centro quirúrgico (25%), Neonatología (15%) y UCI (13%) con un tiempo laboral menor a 1 año. El 61% no pueden realizar sus tareas de enfermería y no comparten sentimientos con otros compañeros, 70% presentó estresores psicológicos relacionados a la muerte y sufrimiento de un paciente, finalmente el 58% de enfermeras alguna vez presentaron estresores sociales referentes a criticas de un médico. Conclusión: Considerando los estresores mencionados se identificó que las principales fuentes de ausentismo del personal de salud están estrechamente ligadas a estresores psicológicos vinculados a la muerte de un paciente, miedo a cometer errores en sus cuidados y por la controversia de falta de personal o ayuda a otros servicios, dificultando el normal desarrollo de la función en la atención de salud.Introdução: Os estressores laborais são aqueles relacionados às condições de trabalho que advêm da relação entre o trabalhador e suas funções laborais, levando a transtornos psicológicos ou danos físicos no pessoal de saúde, podendo levar ao absenteísmo ou falta de desempenho das funções laborais. Objetivo: Identificar os estressores que afetam o desenvolvimento normal das funções assistenciais na equipe de enfermagem. Metodologia: foi utilizado delineamento descritivo, abordagem quantitativa transversal, 101 enfermeiros que atuam em diferentes serviços do Hospital Geral de Ambato foram inquiridos através do Questionário de Estresse Ocupacional para Enfermagem. Resultados: os principais resultados mostram que 96% correspondem ao sexo feminino, casados ​​(58%) e variam de 31 a 40 anos; serviços com maior participação: Centro cirúrgico (25%), Neonatologia (15%) e UTI (13%) com tempo de trabalho inferior a 1 ano. 61% não conseguem realizar suas tarefas de enfermagem e não compartilham sentimentos com outros colegas, 70% apresentaram estressores psicológicos relacionados à morte e sofrimento de um paciente, por fim 58% dos enfermeiros já apresentaram estressores sociais referindo-se a críticas de um médico.
