Resumo: This article aims to describe the partial results of a research that focuses on Problem Solving. From the development of an activity with students in initial teacher training, it was tried to establish a connection between the ideas of Realistic Mathematical Education-EMR, the Problem Solving methodology and Financial Education. The problem situations, built according to the principles of the EMR, are focused on the construction of concepts relating to financial rates, percentage, geometric progressions and the fundamental ideas that promote the articulation between them, such as comparison, variation and equivalence. The study made, allowed to identify that the proposition of a problem situations, according to the principles of the EMR, favored the creation of new problems, new conjectures, the establishment of connections between mathematical contents and the social reality that benefited the understanding of Mathematics.

A partir del desarrollo de una actividad con alumnos en formación inicial de profesores, se buscó establecer una conexión entre las ideas de la Educación Matemática Realística-EMR, la metodología de Resolución de Problemas y la Educación Financiera. Las situaciones-problema, construidas según los principios de la EMR, se centran en la construcción de conceptos relacionando los contenidos sobre interés, porcentaje, progresiones geométricas y las ideas fundamentales que promueven la articulación entre ellos, como la comparación, la variación y la equivalencia. El estudio realizado permitió identificar que la proposición de situaciones-problema, según los principios de la EMR, favoreció la creación de nuevos problemas, nuevas conjeturas, el establecimiento de conexiones entre contenidos matemáticos y la realidad social que beneficiaron la comprensión de las Matemáticas.Este artigo tem como objetivo descrever os resultados parciais de uma pesquisa que tem como foco a Resolução de Problemas. A partir do desenvolvimento de uma atividade com alunos em formação inicial de professores, procurou-se estabelecer uma conexão entre as ideias da Educação Matemática Realística-EMR, a metodologia de Resolução de Problemas e a Educação Financeira. As situações-problema, construídas segundo os princípios da EMR, foram voltadas para a construção de conceitos, relacionando os conteúdos sobre juros, porcentagem, progressões geométricas e as ideias fundamentais que promovem a articulação entre eles, como a comparação, variação e equivalência.
