Biology teacher training for ethnic-racial relations education: analysis of the curriculum and teaching practice

Resumo: This article proposes to discuss the importance of ethnic-racial relations education in the initial training curriculum of biological sciences teachers based on the report of a science teacher and the analysis of the curriculum of an undergraduate course. This work is a case study, in which data were collected through a semi-structured interview and document analysis based on Textual Discourse Analysis. The contributions of the teacher interviewed together with the curriculum analysis show an advance, in the case studied, in the insertion of ERER in the curriculum, emphasizing the importance of ERER approach in teacher training. In addition, they point to the need to investigate how this approach has impacted training.

Este trabajo es un estudio de caso, en que los datos se recogieron a través de una entrevista semiestructurada y el análisis de documentos basado en el Análisis Textual del Discurso. Las aportaciones de la professora junto con el análisis curricular, muestran un avance, en el caso estudiado, en la inserción de la ERER en el currículo, destacando la importancia de la ERER en la formación del profesorado. Además, señalan la necesidad de investigar cómo ha repercutido este enfoque en la formación.Este artigo propõe discutir a importância da educação das relações étnico-raciais no currículo de formação inicial de professores/as de ciências biológicas a partir do relato de uma professora de ciências e da análise curricular de uma licenciatura. Este trabalho trata-se de um estudo de caso, no qual, por meio de uma entrevista semiestruturada e da análise documental com base na Análise Textual Discursiva, os dados foram coletados. As contribuições da professora entrevistada junto à análise curricular evidenciaram um avanço, no caso estudado, na inserção da ERER no currículo, ressaltando a importância da abordagem da ERER na formação docente.
