Ecopedagogic practices integrated in the traveling notebook: enriching the curricula through local knowledge

Resumo: | This study was conducted at Pedro Ernesto Municipal School in Rio de Janeiro, from February to December 2022, during the COVID-19 pandemic. It involved 33 students from the 1st grade, their families, a teacher and a researcher. The aim was to recover the ancestral knowledge of the families and to relate them to the components of the Natural Sciences through eco-pedagogical practices based on Critical Environmental Education, using the Traveling Notebook as the central axis. The primary methodology was action-research complemented by participant observation and conversation circles. The study succeeded in creating a bridge between different curricula dimensions, providing plurality of knowledge, promoting collaborative learning, environmental awareness and social cohesion. |

Participaron directamente 33 estudiantes de 1° año de Primaria, sus familias, una docente y una investigadora. Su objetivo fue rescatar los saberes populares y ancestrales de las familias relacionándolos con los componentes de las Ciencias Naturales a través de prácticas ecopedagógicas basadas en la Educación Ambiental Crítica, que tuvieron como eje central el Cuaderno Viajero. La metodología se centró en la investigación-acción, complementada por la observación participante y los círculos de conversación. El trabajo colaboró como un puente entre las diferentes dimensiones del currículo, propiciando la pluralidad de saberes a través de la participación dinámica.O trabalho foi desenvolvido na Escola Municipal Pedro Ernesto, no Rio de Janeiro, de fevereiro a dezembro de 2022, no contexto pandêmico do COVID-19. Participaram diretamente 33 estudantes do 1° ano do Ensino Fundamental e suas famílias, uma docente e uma pesquisadora. O estudo objetivou resgatar o conhecimento popular e ancestral das famílias relacionando-o aos componentes das Ciências da Natureza por meio de práticas ecopedagógicas alicerçadas na Educação Ambiental Crítica, que tiveram como eixo central o Caderno Viajante. A metodologia esteve centralizada na pesquisa-ação, complementada pela observação participante e pelas rodas de conversa.
