Resumo: | This article presents an experience report of a pedagogical practice on Paleontology, on the issue of construction of fossils, developed in the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education (Educimat) of the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (Ifes) campus Vila Velha. This is qualitative research, based on the foundations of Philippe Perrenoud's theory of competences, which aim was to understand paleontological concepts in a creative and playful way through a practical activity. The application of this practical activity proved to be relevant to work on the theme of fossils in elementary school as a possibility of replication. The proposal allows the active participation of students, the development of their skills, autonomy and scientific and critical thinking. |

De carácter cualitativo, basado en los fundamentos de la teoría de las competencias de Philippe Perrenoud, el objetivo era comprender los conceptos paleontológicos de forma creativa y lúdica a través de una actividad práctica. La aplicación de esta actividad práctica demostró ser relevante para trabajar el tema de los fósiles en la escuela primaria como posibilidad de replicación. La propuesta permite la participación activa de los estudiantes, el desarrollo de sus habilidades, autonomía y pensamiento científico y crítico.Palabras clave: Paleontología; Fósiles; Práctica pedagógica; Teoría de las competencias; Enseñanza de la Biología.Este artigo apresenta um relato de experiência de uma prática pedagógica sobre Paleontologia, construção de fósseis, com uma turma de mestrado do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação em Ciências e Matemática (Educimat) do Instituto Federal do Espírito Santo (Ifes) campus Vila Velha. De natureza qualitativa, apoiada nos fundamentos da teoria das competências de Philippe Perrenoud, buscou-se, por meio de uma atividade prática, compreender conceitos paleontológicos de forma criativa e lúdica. A aplicação desta atividade prática mostrou-se relevante para trabalhar o tema de fósseis no ensino fundamental como possibilidade de replicação.
