Conceptual errors of plant systematics in PNLD biology textbooks

Resumo: | In Brazil, textbooks used in public schools are distributed by the National Textbook Program (PNLD). Many of these books present conceptual errors which might impair students' learning and the classes´ preparations by the teachers. The aim of this work was identifying conceptual errors of Plant Systematic in Biology textbooks from PNLD. After a thorough reading of the 10 books that it, 58 types of conceptual errors were found, 57% of them about reproduction, followed by evolution (28%) and taxonomy (15%). The results show that the textbooks lack more attention to the details of plant reproduction, to the most recent classifications and to the insertion of phylogenetic perspective and tree thinking when approaching plant groups. |

Muchos de estos libros tienen errores conceptuales que pueden afectar el aprendizaje de los estudiantes y la preparación de las clases por los profesores. El objetivo de este trabajo fue identificar errores conceptuales de Botánica Sistemática en los libros didácticos de Biología del PNLD. De una lectura detallada de los 10 libros que lo componen, fueron encontrados 58 tipos de errores conceptuales, de los cuales 57% se referían a la reproducción de plantas, seguido de evolución (28%) y taxonomía (15%). Los resultados muestran que los libros didácticos necesitan de mayor atención a los detalles de la reproducción de las plantas, a las clasificaciones más recientes y a la inserción de la perspectiva filogenética y de pensamiento en árbol al acercarse a los grupos de vegetales.No Brasil, os livros didáticos utilizados nas escolas públicas são distribuídos pelo Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD). Muitos desses livros apresentam erros conceituais que podem prejudicar o aprendizado dos estudantes e a preparação de aulas pelos professores. O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar erros conceituais de Sistemática Vegetal nos livros didáticos de Biologia do PNLD. Após leitura minuciosa das 10 obras que o compõe, foram encontrados 58 tipos de erros conceituais, sendo 57% sobre reprodução, seguido por evolução (28%) e taxonomia (15%).
