Carbon nanotubes modified with SnO2 rods for levofloxacin detection

Resumo: A new sensor based on multi-walled carbon nanotubes modified with SnO2 rods for the electrochemical determination of levofloxacin has been investigated. The morphology, the structure, and the electrochemical performance of the composite electrode were characterised by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry, respectively. Differential pulse voltammetry in phosphate buffer solution at pH 6.0, allowed the application of a method to determine levofloxacin levels in a range of 1.0-9.9 µmol L-1, with a limit of detection calculated at 0.2 µmol L-1 (72.0 mg L-1).
