Envelhecer na cidade: o centro histórico de Araraquara e os impactos dos imóveis ociosos na comunidade

Resumo: The population, both in developing and developed countries, has been living longer, achieving greater longevity. As a result, families and governments, through their research institutes, seek alternatives related to the care and specificities of the elderly, since the Federal Constitution guarantees dignity, sociability, well-being, and the right to life for this portion of the population. Its objective was to analyze the perception of residents in the central region of Araraquara - SP regarding the impacts caused by vacant properties, accessibility, and living in the city center. The research was conducted as a subset of a larger study, supported by regular FAPESP assistance (Process nº2017/15781-9). The study is cross-sectional, descriptive, exploratory, based on literature review and field visits, with data analyzed using a qualitative-quantitative approach. After the field visits, overall satisfaction with residing in the area was found due to significant infrastructure. However, a significant portion expressed concern about vacant properties and their negative consequences, primarily related to feelings of insecurity.

However, a significant portion expressed concern about vacant properties and their negative consequences, primarily related to feelings of insecurity.A população, tanto em países em desenvolvimento quanto em países desenvolvidos, têm vivido por mais tempo, alcançando maior longevidade e com isso, famílias e governos, através de seus institutos de pesquisas, buscam alternativas relacionadas aos cuidados e especificidades da pessoa idosa, uma vez que a Constituição Federal garante a essa parcela da população, dignidade, sociabilidade, bem-estar e direito à vida. A pesquisa foi realizada como recorte de um estudo maior, que contou com auxílio regular FAPESP (Processo nº2017/15781-9). O estudo teve como objetivo analisar a percepção dos moradores da região central de Araraquara - SP sobre os impactos causados por imóveis ociosos, acessibilidade e a respeito de morar no centro; possui caráter transversal, descritivo, exploratório e contou com revisão bibliográfica e visitas de campo, com os dados analisados no método qualitativo-quantitativo.
