Resumo: | Because the fact we don t have studies about Silicon Carbide ( SiC ) to abrasives in Brasil, this study sought to accomplish the SiC technological search in abrasives using Competitive Intelligence. The necessity to know the SiC application trends and threat in bonded abrasives in Brasil It was the decision detanier necessity showed by focal company. In addition, it was objective from focal company to know the market and technology about its and your national competition in SiC business. Using the Michael Porter analysis method, it could be observed that the national competitor from focal company has a bargain can biggest in many aspects in SiC chain. The changes involving anti-duping in EUA and Europe will must change the world SiC production scenario in these areas, affecting Brasil. After the intelligence cycle application and the Swot method use, it could be observed that synthetic diamond is one strong threat to SiC. Some abrasives tools already are suffering impact with this substitution of the SiC for the synthetic diamond, like to cutting wheels and grinding wheels and disks to marble, granite, stones and ceramics. To polish, it didn t verified that it will have big changes for the next years, therefore the superabrasives are getting space and it will must be monitored, like proposed in this study with a monitor system. The technological necessity of the sizing process innovation to SiC, to can be more efficiency to produce grains between 80 and 220 in ANSI and FEPA, it was detected because for these grains it won t happen synthetic diamond strong threat in the next years. The SiC micrograins production in the national market is one necessity. Actually it doesn t have enough availability and the actual national micrograins quality isn t so good. The production technology to offer to the market the micrograins in big quantities and with good quality, like humid sedimentation process with Elutriation is proposed and already the focal company has it. |

A necessidade de saber-se as tendências e ameaças de aplicação do SiC em abrasivos ligados no Brasil foi a necessidade de inteligência apresentada pela empresa focada. Além disto, foi interesse da empresa ter-se um mapeamento completo do cenário mundial da produção do SiC, posicionando-a principalmente frente ao concorrente nacional. Utilizando-se o método de análise de Michael Porter, pôde-se observar que o concorrente nacional da empresa focada tem um poder de barganha maior que esta em vários aspectos da cadeia do SiC. Mudanças envolvendo anti-dumping na Europa e EUA deverão alterar o cenário mundial da produção e comercialização mundial do SiC nestas regiões, afetando inclusive o Brasil. Após a aplicação do ciclo de inteligência competitiva e utilização do método de Swot, verificou-se que o diamante sintético é uma grande ameaça para o SiC. Algumas ferramentas abrasivas já vêm sofrendo o impacto desta substituição do SiC pelo diamante sintético, casos dos discos de corte e rebolos e discos de desbaste para mármores, granitos, pedras, cerâmicas e porcelanatos. Para retífica e polimento em geral, não observou-se que haverão grandes mudanças para os próximos anos, no entanto, os superabrasivos estão cada vez tomando mais espaços e isto deve ser monitorado, como proposto neste trabalho em num sistema de monitoramento tecnológico. A necessidade tecnológica de inovação no processo de beneficiamento do SiC, para a maior geração de grãos entre o 80 e 220 das normas ANSI e FEPA, foi detectada, pois para estes grãos não ocorrerá ameaça forte do diamante sintético nos próximos anos. A produção de microgrãos de SiC no mercado nacional é uma necessidade. Atualmente não há disponibilidade suficiente e a qualidade do atual microgrão nacional não satisfaz os clientes destes.
