Resumo: The objective of this work was to evaluate the health of machinery through its respective lubricating oil with a focus on the techniques of Rotary disk electrode optical emission spectroscopy (RDE-OES) and particle counting. To this end, we sought to understand the operation of the techniques and their respective economic impact, as well as how to interpret the data, with emphasis on lubricating oil through literature review. Finally, demonstrating how important the techniques are to determine possible sources of wear and contaminants, which, if performed periodically, leads to a reduction in the possibility of equipment failure and savings in maintenance.
