Teaching of Museological Documentation: A Study at the Federal University of Pará

Resumo: Teaching museum documentation plays a fundamental role in the sustainable management and preservation of cultural and scientific heritage in the Amazon region. This paper reflects on the importance and practices of teaching documentation of cultural assets in the Bachelor's Degree in Museology at the Federal University of Pará, in Brazil. Through a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of this discipline, future museologists become better prepared to assume professional and ethical responsibilities in their field of activity. The challenges and opportunities faced in the context of teaching this discipline at a federal university in the Amazon will be analyzed. To achieve this purpose, three case studies applied at the institution are presented, during the years 2022 and 2023, comparing the results with the literature on teaching, principles and practices of museum documentation. The conclusions highlight the relevance of the course for the training of museology students, displaying some innovative activities for teaching in the classroom.

Este artículo aborda la relevancia y metodologías de la formación en documentación de bienes culturales en la Licenciatura en Museología de la Universidad Federal de Pará, Brasil. Mediante un enfoque integral de los fundamentos y técnicas de esta disciplina, se prepara a los futuros profesionales de museología para asumir responsabilidades éticas y profesionales en su ámbito laboral. Se examinan los retos y posibilidades en el contexto educativo de esta materia en una institución federal amazónica. Con este fin, se exponen tres casos prácticos realizados en la universidad durante los años 2022 y 2023, cuyos resultados se contrastan con estudios sobre didáctica, principios y métodos de la documentación museológica. Las conclusiones subrayan la importancia del programa educativo para la capacitación de estudiantes en museología, resaltando ciertas propuestas innovadoras en la enseñanza presencial.O ensino de documentação museológica desempenha um papel fundamental na gestão sustentável e na preservação do patrimônio cultural e científico na região amazônica. Este artigo reflete sobre a importância e as práticas do ensino de documentação de bens culturais no Curso de Bacharelado em Museologia da Universidade Federal do Pará, no Brasil. Por meio da compreensão abrangente dos princípios e práticas desta disciplina, os futuros museólogos se tornam melhor preparados para assumir responsabilidades profissionais e éticas no seu campo de atuação. Analisar-se-á os desafios e oportunidades enfrentados no contexto do ensino desta disciplina em uma universidade federal na Amazônia. Para alcançar esse propósito, apresentam-se três estudos de caso aplicados na instituição, durante os anos de 2022 e 2023, confrontando os resultados com a literatura sobre o ensino, os princípios e as práticas de documentação museológica.
