UNIVERSITY AND ART TRANS-FORM (TO) LIFE(S)

Resumo: Where society is not focused on issues related to a critical-social education as its first prerogative. In certain of these situations, even the most essential science to humanity is being deprived of its importance. In relation to art the question is not very different because by limiting a critical social freedom, art ends up being obstructed in its first transforming intention. Indeed, in Western cultures where the purposes in relation to the University, science and art are restricted to party-politics, both have lost the interest of young society, more especially, but more broadly even for adults too, when it comes to survival in the current context of these societies: work and riches (innovations, internationalization, technologies) are more important than socio-critical-cultural trans-training to revive the coexistence with peers. From this principle, trying to rescue the basic beginnings of the creation/intention of the University, even of the scientific logic, and of art as relevant “instances” to the processes of trans-formation (to) of life(s), this paper will discuss the growing decline of the University and of art in the current political-sociocultural context in order to prove the need to continue believing in both, but, at the same time, defending the need for changes in these as we perceive/understand them today in the 21st century.

En algunas de estas situaciones, incluso se está privando de importancia a la ciencia más esencial para la humanidad. En relación con el arte la cuestión no es muy diferente porque al limitar una libertad crítico-social, el arte acaba siendo obstaculizado en su primera intención transformadora. De hecho, en las culturas occidentales donde los propósitos en relación a la Universidad, la ciencia y el arte están restringidos a la política partidista, ambos han perdido el interés de la sociedad joven, más especialmente, pero de manera más amplia también para los adultos cuando se trata de sobrevivir en el contexto actual de estas sociedades: el trabajo y la riqueza (innovaciones, internacionalización, tecnologías) son más importantes que la trans-formación socio-crítica-cultural para revivir la convivencia con los semejantes. Desde este principio, intentando rescatar los inicios básicos de la creación/intención de la Universidad, incluso de la lógica científica, y del arte como “instancias” relevantes a los procesos de trans-formación (para) la(s) vida(s), este trabajo discutirá el creciente declive de la Universidad y del arte en el actual contexto político-sociocultural para demostrar la necesidad de seguir creyendo en ambos, pero, al mismo tiempo, defendiendo la necesidad de cambios en los mismos tal y como los percibimos/entendemos hoy en el siglo XXI.De uns tempos para cá, mas não somente, a Universidade se tornou instituição malvista em lugares em que a sociedade prima por questões não voltadas a uma formação crítico-social como primeira prerrogativa. Em certas situações dessas, até mesmo a Ciência mais essencial à humanidade está sendo destituída de importância. Em relação à arte a questão não se diferencia muito porque ao limitar uma liberdade social crítica, a arte acaba por ser obstruída na sua intenção transformadora primeira. Ao certo, nas culturas ocidentais em que os propósitos em relação à Universidade, a ciência e a arte são restritos à político-partidários, ambas têm perdido interesse da sociedade jovem, mais especialmente, mas de modo mais amplo até para adultos também quando se fala em sobrevivência no contexto atual dessas sociedades: prima-se mais pelo trabalho e riquezas (inovações, internacionalização, tecnologias) ao invés de trans-formação sócio-crítico-cultural para revivermos a convivência com os pares.
