THE SCHOOL LIBRARY AND THE LIBRARIAN'S LAW: Some reflections after ten years of promulgation

It intends to understand, from a systematic review of the literature, the six years of enactment of law 12.244 / 2010, known as the librarian's law, for establishing that public and private educational institutions of all the country's education systems will have libraries, within a maximum period of 10 years. It has as a research principle the following questions: Is the literature favorable or unfavorable to the law? Is there any relation, in the texts researched, with other legislation that deals with the subject? What have been the policies adopted since the enactment of the Law? The article is based on descriptive research, in the interpretation of information obtained in data collection, uses as method the systematic review of literature and analyzed articles in the area of Librarianship and Information Science, classified as qualis A1, A2, B1, B2, available online, in the Sucupira database. It concludes the existence of a legal apparatus that legitimizes its actions of the school library and the librarian, necessitating, however, policies to follow up this legislation.
