Resumo: | Gender-related issues, more specifically, about the maternity, have been documented as important challenges to be overcome in the academic environment and need to be investigated so that a better understanding can occur, generating possibilities of support and favorable conditions for the full development of academic training. with equal conditions. The study aimed to reflect on the space of mothers in the Brazilian public university, as protagonists of their educational process, thus enabling the construction of possible protection factors that guarantee their maintenace in the university and in equity relative to the other students. For the construction of the work, we did a literature review and construction of a field research at a Brazilian public university. As a result, in general, the multiple roles of mothers (maternity, domestic, academic and extra-university activities) were identified. The findings are expected to contribute to the construction of a more inclusive environment, which respects motherhood and contributes to the formation of a more inclusive society. |

Para la construcción del trabajo, hemos hecho una revisión de la literatura y la construcción de una investigación de campo en una universidad pública brasileña. Como resultado, en general, se identificaron los múltiples roles de las madres (maternidad, actividades domésticas, académicas y extrauniversitarias). Se espera que los hallazgos contribuyan a la construcción de un entorno más inclusivo, que respete la maternidad y contribuya a la formación de una sociedad más igualitaria.Questões relacionadas ao gênero, especificamente, sobre o fator maternidade, têm sido documentadas como desafios importantes para serem superados no ambiente acadêmico e precisam ser investigados para que possa ocorrer uma melhor compreensão que gerem possibilidades de apoio e condições favoráveis para o pleno desenvolvimento da formação acadêmica com condições igualitárias. O trabalho teve como objetivo refletir sobre o espaço de mães na universidade pública brasileira, enquanto protagonistas do seu processo educacional, possibilitando assim, a construção de possíveis fatores de proteção que garantam a permanência das mesmas na universidade e em equidade aos demais estudantes. Para a construção do trabalho foi realizada uma revisão de literatura com temática relativa a maternidade na educação superior com enfoque nas diferenças de gênero para dar suporte a pesquisa de campo realizada e compor a discussão dos dados obtidos. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada em uma universidade pública federal brasileira. Os resultados identificaram a ocorrência de múltiplas atribuições das mulheres universitárias, que se somam com as atividades acadêmicas: a maternidade, as atividades domésticas e profissionais extra universidade.
