Teaching Psychology’s History in Brazil: from the Benjamin Constant Reform, to the minimum curriculum and the National Curriculum Guidelines

Resumo: Psychology’s History is an important theme in undergraduate Psychology curricula as a basic orientation for and discussing “epistemological and historical foundations” and the promotion of critical training. This article investigates the historical moments of the institutionalization of the teaching of the Psychology’s History in Brazil, since the Benjamin Constant Reform, passing through the Minimum Curriculum and culminating in the National Curriculum Guidelines. We intend to highlight the paths of conception and institutionalization of the discipline of Psychology’s History in Brazil, and how that consolidated as an important discussion at the academy. This work is organized analysing twelve legal documents referring to the teaching of Psychology, discussing: curricular models, perspectives that present different histories of Psychology, as well as how it’s impact on the construction of memories in the science and collaborate for professional training.

Investigamos los momentos históricos de la institucionalización de la enseñanza de la disciplina de Historia de la Psicología en Brasil, desde la Reforma Benjamin Constant, al Currículo Mínimo y los Lineamientos Curriculares Nacionales. Destacamos la concepción e institucionalización de la Historia de la Psicología en Brasil, y los caminos que la consolidaron como campo de formación, investigación y extensión. Analisamos doce documentos legales relacionados con la enseñanza de la Psicología, discutiendo: modelos curriculares, perspectivas que presentan diferentes historias de la Psicología, su impacto en la construcción de memorias en el campo científico y la colaboración para la formación profesional.A História da Psicologia está contemplada nos currículos da graduação em Psicologia posta como orientação base para a formação dada a sua relevância ao discutir “fundamentos epistemológicos e históricos” e a promoção de uma formação crítica. Investiga-se os momentos históricos da institucionalização do ensino da disciplina História da Psicologia no Brasil, desde a desde a Reforma Benjamin Constant, passando pelo Currículo Mínimo e culminando nas Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais. Pretendemos, destacar os caminhos da concepção e institucionalização da disciplina da História da Psicologia no Brasil, e os caminhos que a consolidaram como um campo de formação, pesquisa e extensão.
