Resumo: Objective: To determine the association between self-assessment and foot self-care in patients with Diabetes Mellitus 2. Methods: Descriptive study, transversal, stratified random sampling, 302 participants diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. "Foot Self-Care Practices in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus 2" and "Foot-Risk-Patient" were applied as instruments. The decision tree and the concept of entropy were used. Results: Of the participants, 17.88% presented a moderate risk and 81.12% a mild risk, association of the variables years of diagnosis, marital status, and final self-care score with the degree of risk of diabetic foot. With the decision tree, an average precision model of 80% was obtained, standard deviation of 0.08, the model has a high-moderate prediction capacity with the variables considered. Conclusions: The use of the Foot-Risk-Patient tool is important for the awareness, management, and self-care of the foot of sick patients.
