Resumo: Social work in the field of palliative care is based on the social and human rights established in the Federal Constitution of Brazil in 1988. In the context of palliative care, as a result of changes in daily life resulting from the evolution of cancer, many patients experience situations of intense vulnerability. Thus, the objective is to understand palliative oncology care based on social issues, based on the various situations of vulnerability presented by patients, which interfere with access and quality of social support. The investigation was based on bibliographic and documentary research, with analysis of printed and digital documents. Elements were made available for the necessary immersion in the existing tools to leverage creative and resolutive projects in the assistance scope directed to people in vulnerable conditions. It is concluded that it is necessary to deepen the theme of palliative care and to meet the professional demands in the dimension of end-of-life care (EoLC), in an attempt to make feasible projects feasible for the development of public policies, in order to strengthen and disseminate the adequate use of devices that facilitate the relationship between palliative care workers and patients, minimizing human suffering.
