Resumo: The Portuguese modernist movement started a revolution in the arts and literature considered traditional in the early 20th century with its innovative form influenced by avant-garde movements. We will analyze the form and content of the poems "Ode Triunfal", by Fernando Pessoa's heteronym: Álvaro de Campos, and "Manucure" by Mário de Sá-Carneiro - two great authors of this period - to confirm what we have just stated and investigate how both dialogue in an innovative way with the construction of an illusion with the aid of words. This technique, which - in Deleuze's terms - is configured in modern literature as a search / becoming - which at first seems to be very “stormy”.

This technique, which - in Deleuze's terms - is configured in modern literature as a search / becoming - which at first seems to be very “stormy”.O movimento modernista português rompeu com as artes e com a literatura tida como tradicionais no início século XX com sua forma inovadora influenciada pelos movimentos vanguardistas.
