Ableism: a useful category for the historical analysis of social marginalizations

Resumo: This article, carried out through an integrative literary review process, aims to provide contributions to the production of an epistemology of ableism. To this end, it scrutinizes the idea of a norm and reveals the violence contained in its constituent elements, which pushed the difference between disability and prohibition. It then historicizes the formative processes of ableist logic and highlights how it can serve as an analytical tool for understanding marginalizations experienced by minority groups, given the centripetal character exercised by corponormativity idea. It ends by noting that the construction of an ableist epistemology is configured as part of the broader struggle for justice and the construction of a new social geography, a new anthropology.

Para ello, escudriña la idea de norma y revela la violencia contenida en sus elementos constitutivos, que empujaron la diferencia entre discapacidad y prohibición. Luego historiza los procesos formativos de la lógica capacitista y destaca cómo puede servir como herramienta analítica para comprender las marginaciones experimentadas por los grupos minoritarios, dado el carácter centrípeto que ejerce la idea de corponormatividad. Termina señalando que la construcción de una epistemología capacitista se configura como parte de una lucha más amplia por la justicia y la construcción de una nueva geografía social, una nueva antropología.Este artigo, realizado mediante processo de revisão literária integrativa, objetiva fornecer contributos para a produção de uma epistemologia do capacitismo. Para tanto, escrutina a ideia de norma e desvela a violência contida em seus elementos constitutivos, os quais empurraram a diferença da deficiência ao interdito. Em seguida, historiciza os processos formativos da lógica capacitista e destaca como esta pode servir de ferramenta analítica para a compreensão de marginalizações vivenciadas por grupos minoritários, dado o caráter centrípeto exercido pela ideia de corponormatividade.
