Resumo: | This study aims to evaluate the effects of auriculotherapy on anxiety and serum levels of Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), Neuron Specific Enolase (NSE), and S100 calcium binding protein B (S100B) in adults attended in Primary Health Care. The methodology is based on a pre-experimental pilot clinical trial evaluating 19 patients randomly selected. Information was obtained through the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI®) and the biochemical analysis of BDNF, NSE and S100B serum levels by Enzyme-Linked immunosorbent assay. This study is characterized as a pre-experimental pilot clinical trial with a quantitative approach, carried out in a BHU in the city of Palhoça – Santa Catarina, in which the period of data collection was from July to September 2019. The study was carried out over six weeks: in the first meeting, the FICT were read and signed and the STAI® was applied to assess levels of anxiety and eligibility in the sample; in the second meeting, the sociodemographic questionnaire was applied, blood was collected for analysis of serum BDNF, NSE, and S100B, and treatment with auriculotherapy was started; in the third, fourth, and fifth meetings, the auriculotherapy sessions were repeated; in the sixth meeting, the STAI® was applied again to reassess anxiety levels and blood was collected for post-intervention BDNF, NSE, and S100B analysis. The research was conducted and structured following CONSORT guidelines. |
