The analysis of content: a method for data analysis in qualitative research

This work presents Content Analysis (CA) as a method for analysis and treatment of research, especially for qualitative research. The theoretical foundation is based on the work of Bardin (2011), but dialogues with other works that expose or discuss the CA method. Based on a research that dealt with the constitution of the Field of Publics, this work presents the experience of using the method and argues that the CA is able to offer the researcher adequate resources for the systematic analysis of data. The study also emphasizes the need, in addition to the knowledge of the AC method, that the researcher has mastery of the theoretical referential related to the subject of his research. This condition is fundamental so that it is possible for the researcher to make the inferences, buscando o conteúdo latente, going beyond repetitions of what is already presented in the material collected, bringing contributions to the field to which it is dedicated.
