Qualitative research in Education –epistemological and ethical aspects

Resumo: | In this article, we intend to analyze and reflect on the epistemological and ethical frameworks of qualitative research in education. The method is a bibliographic review, and is based on a critical approach to the themes, from outstanding studies in the sphere of discussed knowledge. The concept of qualitative research is clarified, from the conceptions of science of the 20th century to the present day, delimiting it in the main research paradigms that emerged as a counterpoint to the hypothetical-deductive paradigm (phenomenological-interpretative, sociocritical and of complexity). The ethical issue is approached as a structuring dimension of qualitative research, in the Human and Social Sciences, and precisely in the field of education. From the contributions, there are reflections for the development of a critical view of research, based on principles and values that shape the ways of building knowledge in the fields of education. Keywords: Qualitative research; Education; Paradigms; Ethic. Neste artigo, intenciona-se analisar e refletir sobre os enquadramentos epistemológicos e éticos da investigação qualitativa em educação. O método é de revisão bibliográfica, e tem como fundamento a abordagem crítica das temáticas, a partir de estudos de destaque na esfera dos conhecimentos discorridos. O conceito de investigação qualitativa é clarificado, a partir das concepções de ciência do século XX até a contemporaneidade, delimitando-o nos principais paradigmas de investigação que surgiram em contraponto ao paradigma hipotético-dedutivo (fenomenológico-interpretativo, sociocrítico e da complexidade). A questão ética é abordada como dimensão estruturante da pesquisa qualitativa nas Ciências Humanas e Sociais e, precisamente no terreno da educação. Dos contributos, registram-se reflexões para o desenvolvimento de uma visão crítica da investigação, assentes em princípios e valores que enformam os modos de construção do conhecimento nos domínios da educação.
