Agronomic characterization of strawberries cultivars at RS

Resumo: In a randomized blocks study to assess agronomic characters of eight strawberry cultivars (Oso Grande, Camarosa, Campinas, Verão, Vila Nova, Chandler, Dover and Seascape), strawberry plants were grown on plots of land near the southern Brazilian town of Viamão. Oso Grande and Seascape produce the biggest fruit in commercial production. In non-commercial production of the eight cultivars tested there were significant differences between all assessed characters. Vila Nova had the highest number of berries and Oso Grande the highest average berry mass in total production. The greater berries marketable was detected in Oso Grande and Seascape. Campinas, Vila Nova and Camarosa had the highest non-commercial production.

As cultivares de morangueiro Oso Grande, Chandler, Dover, Campinas, Seascape, Verão, Camarosa e Vila Nova foram avaliadas em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, com quatro repetições, no município de Via- mão, RS. O trabalho teve por objetivo caracterizar agronomicamente as cultivares. As características foram avaliadas na produção total, expressa em frutos comerciais e não comerciais. Os resultados da produção não comercial apre- sentaram diferenças significativas em todos os caracteres analisados. A produção total de frutos destacou ‘Vila Nova’, pelo maior número de frutos, e ‘Oso Grande’, pela maior massa média. Na produção comercial, ‘Oso Grande’ e ‘Seas- cape’ produziram os maiores frutos. ‘Campinas’, ‘Vila Nova’ e ‘Camarosa’ obtiveram a maior produção não comercial.
