Preventive strategies for chronic non-communicable diseases among university students: Integrative Review.

Objective: To identify in the literature the strategies used to prevent chronic non-communicable diseases among university students. Method: This is an integrative review of the literature with the search carried out in the PUBMED, SCIELO and VHL databases, which had as selection criteria original article, full texts available online and related to the studied subject and those published in Portuguese, English and Spanish between the years 2010 and the first semester of 2020. Results: The sample consisted of 04 articles that addressed the preventive strategies used in university students for the prevention of Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). Most studies addressed feedback interventions aimed at reducing alcohol consumption, another study carried out a methodology using the “push” technique to increase consumption and purchase of vegetables, and the last study carried out several strategies together to decrease NCDs. Conclusions: The literature has highlighted the importance of preventive health approaches among university students in order to reduce the future incidence of NCDs among current youth.
