Resumo: Objective: To describe the construction of an educational manual to support the practice of self-care for people with leprosy. Methodology: This is a methodological research that aims to develop an educational technology, in manual format, to help people with leprosy in the process of carrying out the practice of self-care. Initially, a bibliographic survey was carried out between April and May 2021, through a scoping review and search for materials published by the Ministry of Health, then the manual was elaborated and constructed from June to August 2021 , following Echer's methodological framework. Results: A manual containing 112 pages and two volumes was prepared, with a presentation and seven sections. Volume I, with 48 pages, includes the sections: “getting to know leprosy”, “getting to know the treatment”, “taking care of my diet”, “taking care of my body”, “useful contacts”, “references and medication calendar”. Volume II, with 64 pages, includes the sections: “taking care of the skin”, “taking care of the face”, “taking care of the hands”, “taking care of the feet”, “adaptations”, “useful contacts” and “references”. Final considerations: The main result obtained was the development of an educational material designed to guide the practice of self-care for people with leprosy, based on scientific evidence, with clear content and language and with the intention of filling existing gaps in health care provided to this population. It is expected that this material will effectively contribute to the promotion of self-care and the quality of life of these people.

Metodología: Se trata de una investigación metodológica que tiene como objetivo desarrollar una tecnología educativa, en formato manual, para auxiliar a las personas con lepra en el proceso de realización de la práctica del autocuidado. Inicialmente se realizó un levantamiento bibliográfico entre abril y mayo de 2021, mediante revisión de alcance y búsqueda de materiales publicados por el Ministerio de Salud, luego se elaboró ​​y construyó el manual de junio a agosto de 2021, siguiendo el marco metodológico de Echer. Resultados: Se elaboró ​​un manual de 112 páginas y dos volúmenes, con una presentación y siete secciones. El Tomo I, de 48 páginas, incluye las secciones: “conociendo la lepra”, “conociendo el tratamiento”, “cuidando mi alimentación”, “cuidando mi cuerpo”, “contactos útiles”, “referencias y calendario de medicamentos”. El volumen II, de 64 páginas, incluye los apartados: “cuidar la piel”, “cuidar el rostro”, “cuidar las manos”, “cuidar los pies”, “adaptaciones”, “contactos útiles” y “referencias”. Consideraciones finales: El principal resultado obtenido fue la elaboración de un material educativo diseñado para orientar la práctica del autocuidado de las personas con lepra, basado en la evidencia científica, con un contenido y lenguaje claro y con la intención de llenar los vacíos existentes en la atención a la salud que se brinda. a esta población. Se espera que este material contribuya efectivamente a la promoción del autocuidado y la calidad de vida de estas personas.Objetivo: Descrever a construção de um manual educativo para subsidiar a prática do autocuidado de pessoas com hanseníase. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma pesquisa metodológica que visa ao desenvolvimento de uma tecnologia educativa, em formato de manual, para auxiliar as pessoas com hanseníase na prática do autocuidado. Realizou-se inicialmente um levantamento bibliográfico entre os meses de abril e maio de 2021, por meio de uma scoping review, busca de materiais educativos já existentes através da plataforma Google Acadêmico e materiais publicados pelo Ministério da Saúde, em seguida ocorreu a elaboração e construção do manual no período de junho a agosto de 2021, seguindo o referencial metodológico de Echer.  Resultados: Elaborou-se um manual contendo 112 páginas e dois volumes, possuindo apresentação e sete seções. O volume I, com 48 páginas, contempla as seções: “conhecendo a hanseníase”, “conhecendo o tratamento”, “cuidando da minha alimentação”, “cuidando do meu corpo”, “contatos úteis”, “referências e calendário de medicação”. O volume II, com 64 páginas, inclui as seções: “cuidando da pele”, “cuidando da face”, “cuidando das mãos”, “cuidando dos pés”, “adaptações”, “contatos úteis” e “referências”.   Considerações finais: O principal resultado obtido foi a elaboração de um material educativo construído para direcionar a prática do autocuidado de pessoas com hanseníase, tendo sido baseado em evidências científicas, com conteúdo e linguagem clara e com a intenção de preencher lacunas existentes na assistência à saúde prestada a essa população.
