Resumo: Coping is characterized by the development of cognitive and behavioral strategies that the individual uses to control internal and external demands, which, if not used properly, can leave the individual vulnerable to illness. In this sense, it is the result of the individual's interaction with the environment, influenced by personality traits and previous experiences that he may have acquired, to access emotional, behavioral, cognitive and social resources to deal with adverse situations.

En este sentido, es el resultado de la interacción del individuo con el entorno, influenciado por rasgos de personalidad y experiencias previas que haya podido adquirir, para acceder a recursos emocionales, conductuales, cognitivos y sociales para enfrentar situaciones adversas.O enfrentamento caracteriza-se pelo desenvolvimento de estratégias cognitivas e comportamentais que o indivíduo utiliza para controlar as demandas internas e externas, que, se não utilizadas adequadamente, podem deixar o indivíduo vulnerável ao adoecimento.
