Applications of the Fugulin Patient Classification System: a Bibliometric Study

Resumo: | Objective: the research aimed to explore how the Fugulin Patient Classification System is being applied in hospital units. Method: bibliometric review carried out by consulting seven national and international journals for the period from 1999 to 2021. The chosen journals were found in the Nursing Databases, Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences, Scientific Electronic Library Online, National Library of Medicine, Scopus, Web Of Science and Cochrane. The following keywords were used: Patient Classification System, Nursing Care and Nursing. Results: 118 publications were found and after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria 48 publications were considered relevant to the topic. Most of them correspond to studies developed in the Southeast region of the country, by researchers linked to a single university. The applications of the Fugulin Patient Classification System are related to the identification of the degree of dependence on nursing care and the team's workload; in identifying the costs of nursing activities; in the analysis of the distribution of nursing work time; in the identification and analysis of the behavior of the average time of nursing care; in the identification of parameters for staff dimensioning and in the assessment of the care complexity of patients hospitalized in a medical clinic. Conclusions: The Fugulin Patient Classification System has been applied in various perspectives of hospital nursing practice, in classifying care needs, defining costs and staffing. |

Método: revisión bibliométrica realizada mediante consulta en siete revistas nacionales e internacionales para el período de 1999 a 2021. Las revistas elegidas se encontraron en las Bases de Datos de Enfermería, Literatura Latinoamericana y del Caribe en Ciencias de la Salud, Scientific Electronic Library Online, National Library of Medicine , Scopus, Web Of Science y Cochrane. Se utilizaron las siguientes palabras clave: Sistema de Clasificación de Pacientes, Atención de Enfermería y Enfermería. Resultados: se encontraron 118 publicaciones y luego de aplicar los criterios de inclusión y exclusión se consideraron 48 publicaciones relevantes al tema. La mayoría de ellos corresponden a estudios desarrollados en la región Sudeste del país, por investigadores vinculados a una sola universidad. Las aplicaciones del Sistema de Clasificación de Pacientes Fugulin están relacionadas con la identificación del grado de dependencia de los cuidados de enfermería y la carga de trabajo del equipo; en la identificación de los costos de las actividades de enfermería; en el análisis de la distribución del tiempo de trabajo de enfermería; en la identificación y análisis del comportamiento del tiempo medio de atención de enfermería; en la identificación de parámetros para el dimensionamiento del personal y en la evaluación de la complejidad asistencial de los pacientes internados en una clínica médica. Conclusiones: El Sistema de Clasificación de Pacientes de Fugulin se ha aplicado en varias perspectivas de la práctica de enfermería hospitalaria, en la clasificación de las necesidades de atención, la definición de costos y la dotación de personal.Objetivo: a pesquisa objetivou explorar como está sendo aplicado o Sistema de Classificação de Pacientes de Fugulin nas unidades hospitalares. Método: revisão bibliométrica realizada por meio da consulta em sete periódicos nacionais e internacionais para o período de 1999 a 2021. Os periódicos escolhidos foram encontrados na Bases de Dados de Enfermagem, Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde, Scientific Electronic Library Online, National Library of Medicine, Scopus, Web Of Science e Cochrane. Foram utilizadas as seguintes palavras-chave: Sistema de Classificação de Pacientes, Cuidados de Enfermagem e Enfermagem. Resultados: Foram encontradas 118 publicações e após a aplicação de critérios de inclusão e exclusão 48 publicações foram consideradas pertinentes ao tema. Em sua maioria correspondem a estudos desenvolvidos na Região Sudeste do país, por pesquisadores ligados a uma única universidade. As aplicações do Sistema de Classificação de Pacientes de Fugulin estão relacionadas à identificação do grau de dependência de cuidados de enfermagem e da carga de trabalho da equipe; na identificação dos custos das atividades de enfermagem; na análise da distribuição do tempo de trabalho da enfermagem; na identificação e análise do comportamento do tempo médio de assistência de enfermagem; na identificação de parâmetros para o dimensionamento de pessoal e na avaliação da complexidade assistencial de pacientes internados em clínica médica.
