Resumo: | Introduction: Absenteeism among nursing professionals changes organizational dynamics, compromises patient safety, causes dissatisfaction, overloads other team members, contributes to the occurrence of infections, pressure injuries, increased total costs and occupational risks. Therefore, it is essential to know the factors that are associated with absenteeism to encourage the implementation of public policies and labor interventions that aim to promote worker health and reduce absenteeism from work. Objective: To map scientific evidence on factors associated with absenteeism at work by nursing professionals. Methods: This is a scoping review, the search for studies took place in June 2023 in MEDLINE via PubMed, CINAHL, Web of Science, Scopus, BDENF and LILACS, including 15 articles. Results: Factors associated with absenteeism at work by nursing professionals are diverse: age, sex, marital status, education, self-reported health conditions, musculoskeletal diseases, mental and behavioral disorders; exhaustion, ineffective interpersonal relationships, lack of effective communication, problems with children; service disorganization, work accidents, lack of infrastructure and inputs, lack of support for improvement, lack of psychosocial support, work overload, workplace, work shift and working environment conditions; type of contract, professional category, working hours per week, working time in the clinical service, dual employment and the need for career plans and wages. Final Considerations: Factors associated with absenteeism have multifactorial and complex causes, related to individual, interpersonal, environmental, organizational factors, and position and function. |
