Resumo: Objective: To identify the knowledge of Primary Care nurses about assisting women with complaints related to Sexually Transmitted Infections (anogenital warts, genital ulcers, cervicitis and vaginal discharge), based on the “Primary Care Protocols: Women's Health”. Methodology: This is a descriptive and qualitative study conducted with 39 nurses from Primary Care in the city of Campina Grande / Paraíba. Data were collected between May and June 2017, and analyzed according to Bardin's methodological framework. Results: From the analysis of the interviews, four categories emerged: “Nurses' conduct in the management of anogenital warts”; "Assistance in cases of genital ulcers caused by syphilis and soft cancer" and "Performance of nurses in the management of cervicitis and vaginal discharge". Conclusions: The results of the present study allowed to observe gaps in the knowledge of nurses in Primary Care about the assistance to women with complaints related to Sexually Transmitted Infections, being reported, in most cases, only referral to the doctor of the Basic Health Unit or service skilled. The lack of knowledge about the conduct that should be performed was justified by the lack of professional practice. In addition, it was found that the nurse's work activities are influenced by the availability of inputs and difficulties regarding the prescription of medications.
