Main basic human needs affected in patients with cancer and venous thromboembolism: integrative review

The aim is to identify the main basic human needs affected in patients with cancer and venous thromboembolism,based on the evidence of nursing problems identified in the scientific literature, according to the conceptualframework of Wanda Horta. Integrative review of literature to identify nursing problems for patients with cancerand venous thromboembolism. Data analysis was done through the selection and grouping of empirical evidenceaccording to the Basic Human Needs affected. 151 empirical evidences were identified, related to 18 differentBasic Human Needs, with 11 psychobiological needs and 07 psychosocial needs. It concludes that the nursingproblems identified are distributed in psychobiological and psychosocial needs. Among the most affected needsare: vascular regulation, painful perception, oxygenation and cutaneous-mucosal integrity/physical integrity. Itis suggested the production of other works that deal with the nursing process, with consequent elaboration ofdiagnoses and nursing interventions for patients with cancer and venous thromboembolism, with subsequentvalidation of the same.Keywords: Oncology Nursing; Venous Thromboembolism; Nursing Process.
