Resumo: Objective: to analyze nursing conduct in the prevention of pressure injuries in newborns in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Method: It was a field research, descriptive, exploratory, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, carried out with 12 nursing professionals in a public maternity hospital. The data were analyzed according to the content analysis proposed by Bardin, among the content analysis techniques, thematic analysis was used. Results: It was evidenced that the practices used by the nursing staff in the prevention of pressure injuries in the NICU occur through the change of position, the use of sunflower oil, skin hydration and body hygiene. Among the factors associated with pressure injuries in newborns, they highlighted dehydrated skin, leaving the newborn in the same position, inadequate hygiene and the use of devices. As for the use of the Braden Scale, the team does not use the instrument. Conclusion: Given the above, the need for greater benefits was conceived by the managers of the institution and the health service, so that there are such activities based on scientific evidence and the elaboration of a skin care protocol for the newborn. born.

In Derme; Vol. 94 No. 32 (2020): Out.
