ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS FOR THERAPEUTIC ADHERENCE IN PATIENTS WITH HEART FAILURE AT HOSPITAL DISCHARGE: INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Objective: to identify through scientific literature which elements should be inserted in an educational technology to assist in the therapeutic adherence of patients with Heart Failure (HF) at hospital discharge. Method: integrative literature review carried out during the month of January 2021. For the search, an association of 4 subject descriptors from the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) was used, being two controlled (“Heart Failure” and “Patient Discharge”) and two uncontrolled (“Adherence and Compliance to Treatment” and “Educational Technology”). And a triplet with the boolean operator “AND” to associate the descriptors. Results: there were studies developed by nurses, highlighting aspects that contribute to greater patient adherence. Therefore, the resources for therapeutic adherence in extracted items were categorized in relation to the essential elements for therapeutic adherence, some categories were extracted from the studies: pharmacological treatment, non-pharmacological treatment, clinical guidelines on HF, communication with patients and families, patient autonomy for care. Final Considerations: it was possible to identify the construction of educational technology for patients with HF who are at hospital discharge, should be based on different dimensions of care.
