Resumo: Objective: The aim of the present study was to analyze the association between leisure practices, sociodemographic variables, anxiety, and quality of life in the elderly population during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: 345 individuals aged 60 and above participated. Structured questionnaires were administered, including the Leisure Practices Scale. A logistic regression model was used to control for potential confounding factors. Results: An association of leisure practices with the variables was evidenced: race (p=0.023), education (p=<0.001), socioeconomic status (p=0.001), anxiety (p=<0.001), physical quality of life (p=<0.001), and mental quality of life (p=<0.001). Conclusion: It is concluded that elderly women, with up to 10 years of education, exhibiting characteristics of Generalized Anxiety Disorder and poor physical quality of life, are associated with lower engagement in leisure practices. The findings highlight that social inequalities can interfere with leisure activities and, consequently, the well-being of this population.

In Derme; Vol. 97 No. 4 (2023): Out.
