FEELINGS, DIFFICULTIES AND WAYS OF COPING WITH DEATH BY NURSING

Resumo: | Objective: To know the feelings, difficulties and coping strategies of nursing professionals facing the situation of death of patients. Methods: Integrative literature review carried out with a search in the Virtual Health Library, in december 2021. The keywords "attitude toward death" and "nursing" were used. Results: 60 articles were found and selected 13. Difficulties are identified: the dealing with finitude; difficulty in understanding and accepting the suffering caused by death; the feelings experienced in the process of death and dying and the coping strategies of death by nursing professionals. Final Considerations: Fostering discussion spaces about the process of death and dying, in its multiple cultural and scientific visions can minimize suffering. In addition, discussing death from the training process may not exempt the professional from suffering, but can prepare it to better support the process. |

Métodos: Revisión integrativa de la literatura realizada mediante la búsqueda en la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud, em diciembre de 2021. Se utilizaron lãs palabras clave: "actitud frente a lamuerte", y "enfermería". Resultados: Se han encontrado 60 artículos y seleccionados 13. Se identifican como dificultades: el manejo de lafinitud; dificultad para comprender y aceptar El sufrimiento causado por La muerte; los sentimientos vivenciados ante El proceso de morir y muerte y lãs estrategias de enfrentamiento de La muerte por los profesionales de enfermería. Consideraciones finales: Fomentar espacios de discusión sobre El proceso de muerte y morir, en sus múltiples visiones culturales y científicas puede minimizar El sufrimiento. Además, discutir La muerte desde El proceso de formación puede no eximir al profesional del sufrimiento, sin embargo, puede prepararlo para soportar mejor El proceso.Objetivo: Conhecer os sentimentos, dificuldades e as estratégias de enfrentamento dos profissionais de enfermagem frente à situação de morte dos pacientes. Métodos: Revisão integrativa da literatura realizada com busca na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, em dezembro de 2021. Utilizaram-se as palavras-chave: “atitude frente à morte” e “enfermagem”. Resultados: Foram encontrados 60 artigos, destes, 13 foram selecionados. Dentre as dificuldades enfrentadas pelos profissionais de enfermagem frente a morte, está o lidar com a finitude; compreender e aceitar o sofrimento causado pela morte; os sentimentos vivenciados diante do processo de morrer e morte e as estratégias de enfrentamento da morte pelos profissionais de enfermagem. Considerações finais: Fomentar espaços de discussão sobre o processo de morte e morrer, nas suas múltiplas visões culturais e científicas pode minimizar o sofrimento.
