Resumo: | This article intends to elaborate some hypotheses about the conditions of emergence of contemporary cinema (post-1980), based on a scene from Abbas Kiarostami's Taste of Cherry (1997). Firstly, we will develop the concept of 'rupture of man and the world', elaborated by Gilles Deleuze in Cinema 2 – The Time-Image. Then, we will recover the notion of cinematic 'mannerism', developed in the 1980s by Serge Daney and other authors, to show how, in this context, the problem identified by Deleuze finds a new point of exhaustion. Finally, we will return to Kiarostami's movie, to note the response of minimalist cinema or cinema of slowness to the 'loss of the world'. |
