Resumo: This paper aims to analyze the implementation process and the contributions of the Electronic Citizen Record (PEC) of e-SUS AB for the improvement of health services in Horizonte - CE. Methodologically, it is research with a qualitative approach of a descriptive and documentary nature. The data were obtained through a questionnaire answered by 98 health professionals who work with the system. In addition, a survey was carried out with the AB coordinator of the municipality. The data indicated that the system needs some expressive changes in relation to the training they had at the beginning of the implementation of the PEC. However, over time and its use, professionals stated that the PEC proved to be a highly relevant tool for patient care management and through that, it is possible to promote quality public health in the municipality.

Metodologicamente é uma pesquisa com abordagem qualitativa de natureza descritiva e documental. Os dados foram obtidos por meio de questionário respondido por 98 profissionais de saúde que atuam com o PEC. Em complemento, realizou-se pesquisa com a coordenadora da AB do município. Os dados apontaram que o sistema necessita de atualizações e que a capacitação ofertada aos servidores da saúde foi insuficiente e não abordou todas as funcionalidades do Prontuário Eletrônico do Cidadão (PEC).
