Reflections on female entrepreneurship in the light of hospitality experiences in Rio de Janeiro

Resumo: The present work reflects on the trajectories of three women entrepreneurs in the hospitality sector, analyzing their life stories and reports, which indicate challenges and opportunities to be overcome in terms of discrimination, barriers to establishing and conducting their business in Rio de Janeiro. The discussion includes aspects related to gender power structures, understanding that the woman who owns a small hosting business changes her social role when she emancipates herself from social rules, creating her own rules. In this sense, the article shows evidence that this movement needs to be understood with the singularities of each context.

A discussão inclui aspectos relativos às estruturas de poder de gênero, entendendo-se que a mulher proprietária de um pequeno negócio de hospedagem modifica seu papel social quando se emancipa das regras sociais, criando suas próprias regras.
