O presente trabalho buscará analisar dentre os diversos meios de proteção ao meio ambiente existentes como o instrumento jurídico do tombamento mostra-se relevante no tocante a preservação do patrimônio cultural, histórico e artístico nacional, bem como o alcance de sua norma sobre a proteção do meio ambiente natural, além da forma do seu processo, das restrições, dos efeitos e indenizações a que estão sujeitos os proprietários, o Estado e terceiros.The Brazilian cultural heritage protection is a constitutional duty imposed on Public Power and the company that among other forms of preservation and acautelamento will make use of inventories, records, surveillance, expropriation and tombamento.
