Especificamente, tal evolução alterou no decorrer dos anos o papel das aulas de Inglês, língua obrigatória no currículo, em consequência das necessidades e interesses mundiais. Nesse contexto, o presente trabalho monográfico tem como objetivo analisar como ocorre a formação teórica do professor de Língua Inglesa e como advém a interação entre essa teoria e a prática diária. Inicia-se com uma apreciação da trajetória do ensino da Língua Inglesa no mundo e no Brasil, estabelecendo uma conexão com as metodologias envolvidas no processo e que são transformadas a cada demanda da sociedade e interesses políticos. Serão discutidas questões sobre as crenças que, tanto os alunos como professores, trazem consigo e a importância da prática reflexiva. Salienta-se a importância da qualificação dos cursos de formação inicial e a necessidade do contato do professor em formação com o professor em serviço, desde o início do curso de Letras. É revelada a importância da formação continuada para continuidade e aprimoramento dos conhecimentos adquiridos na formação inicial, utilizando-se de recursos diversos oferecidos pelos avanços tecnológicos, inclusive, das associações e cursos internacionais de formação do professor de língua estrangeira. Para finalizar, observa-se, também, a legislação que rege todo o processo de formação e dá suporte para que o professor realize um serviço satisfatório.English teacher training involves many challenges and it is a continuing subject always under discussion because being a teacher requires to be always following the world changes and the evolution of human beings: their anxieties and needs. Specifically, this evolution has changed over the years the role of lessons of English, compulsory language in the curriculum, as a result of the needs and interests worldwide. In this context, this paper aims to analyze how the training of English teachers occurs and how interaction occurs between theory and everyday practice. It starts with an analysis of the path of teaching English worldwide and in Brazil, establishing a connection with the methodologies involved in the process and transformed at every demand from society and political interests. It will bring into question the beliefs that both students and teachers bring with them and the importance of reflective practice. We stress the importance of qualifying the initial training courses and the need of contact between the teacher in training and the teacher in service since the beginning of the course of Letters. It was revealed the importance of continued education to continue the improvement of knowledge in the initial training using various resources offered by technological advancement, associations and international training courses for foreign language teacher.
