Resumo: The article presents a reflection on how the gesture "Wakanda forever", present in the films of the superhero Black Panther, is re-enacted by black collectives on Instagram as a possibility of claiming Maafa spoils (Njeri, 2019). Gesturality, seen through the lens of performance (Taylor, 2013), is a powerful trace of understanding of the experience with the work, in which black bodies activate ancestries to aquilomb themselves, in negotiation with Afro-futiristic perspectives of pop culture.
