Corporate governance, compliance and the performance of the chief compliance officer: relationship between law and business sustainability

Resumo: The present work seeks to defend implementation of Corporate Governance and Compliance as means for the realization of Fundamental Rights. Through the use of the bibliographic research methodology, based on the hypothetical deductive method, we start by exposing what Corporate Governance is and its pillars, we detail the pillar Compliance and the performance of Chief Compliance Officer. It can be seen that Compliance is the adoption of a procedure by companies focused on complying with control mechanisms that prevent the risks of practicing infractions related to business activities, by creating internal codes of regulatory compliance and implementation of the respective compliance with routines of control, as well as, the Chief Compliance Officer fulfills the role of business ethics professional, being assigned the duty to create, manage, supervise and institute the integrity program; and also the responsibility for the duty of surveillance, control and communication of irregularities to board or directors.

Por meio da utilização da metodologia de pesquisa bibliográfica, assentada no método hipotético dedutivo, iniciamos expondo o que é Governança Corporativa e seus pilares, detalhamos a pilastra Compliance e a atuação do Chief Compliance Officer.
