Resumo: This article analyzes the role of women as political agents in Sant’Ana do Livramento. The research is qualitative in nature and is characterized as exploratory. For the production of data, a semi-structured script adapted from Couto (2012) was applied to 6 women who held or occupy political positions, 5 of them in the Legislative Power and 1 in the Executive Power, elected as deputy mayor. The data produced were analyzed using the technique of interpretive analysis and show that, in terms of entering politics, the candidacy is related to the woman's personality and individuality. It should also be noted that most interviewees reported that they did not obtain partisan support for their candidacies. Subsequently, the achievements obtained for the benefit of the Sant’Ana do Livramento community are constituted in the creation and development of projects, such as the implementation of the Women's Reference Center. Therefore, the adversities faced by the representatives of the people, for not being able to perform what they planned, for being a minority, and also for the gender prejudice. In addition to the challenges that the interviewees faced along the political path, the lack of funds was highlighted, as it caused the impediment to carry out projects aimed at the community.

La investigación es de naturaleza cualitativa y se caracteriza por ser exploratoria. Para la producción de datos se aplicó un guion semiestructurado adaptado de Couto (2012) a 6 mujeres que ocupaban u ocupan cargos políticos, 5 de ellas en el Poder Legislativo y 1 en el Poder Ejecutivo, elegida como teniente de alcalde. Los datos producidos fueron analizados mediante la técnica de análisis interpretativo y muestran que, en cuanto al ingreso a la política, la candidatura está relacionada con la personalidad e individualidad de la mujer. También cabe señalar que la mayoría de los entrevistados reportaron que no obtuvieron apoyo partidista en sus candidaturas. Posteriormente, los logros obtenidos en beneficio de la comunidad de Sant’Ana do Livramento se constituyen en la creación y desarrollo de proyectos, como la implementación del Centro de Referencia de la Mujer. Por lo tanto, las adversidades que enfrentan las representantes del pueblo, por no poder realizar lo que tenían planeado, por ser una minoría, y también por el prejuicio de género. Además de los desafíos que enfrentaron las entrevistadas en el camino político, se resaltó la falta de fondos, pues ocasionó el impedimento para realizar proyectos dirigidos a la comunidad.Este artigo analisa a atuação feminina enquanto agente político em Sant’Ana do Livramento. A pesquisa é de natureza qualitativa e caracteriza-se como exploratória. Para a produção de dados, foi aplicado um roteiro semiestruturado e adaptado de Couto (2012), para 6 mulheres que ocuparam ou ocupam cargos políticos, 5 delas no Poder Legislativo e 1 no Poder Executivo, eleita como vice-prefeita. Os dados produzidos foram analisados por meio da técnica de análise interpretativa e evidenciam que, quanto ao ingresso na política, a candidatura relaciona-se com a personalidade e a individualidade da mulher. Salienta-se, ainda, que a maior parte das entrevistadas relatou que não obteve apoio partidário em suas candidaturas. Na sequência, as conquistas obtidas em prol da comunidade santanense se constituem na criação e no desenvolvimento de projetos, como a implantação do Centro de Referência da Mulher. Logo, as adversidades enfrentadas pelas representantes do povo, por não conseguirem desempenhar o que planejavam, por serem minoria, e ainda pelo preconceito de gênero.
