Resumo: Aiming to contribute to the studies related to the literary production of the Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in Brazil and also stimulate new theoretical looks over it, this work intents to analyze how the relation between history and fiction happens in her second novel, Half of a Yellow Sun (2006), by approaching Hutcheon's (1991) theoretical reflections regarding to the problematization of history by fiction. Through a previous exploration of her literary path, as well as by examining her studies in Brazil and later emphasizing the historical constitution of her production, it intends to notice how history can be represented in the novel and reflect on the constructive aspect that the fictional narrative presents.
