Resumo: The ecophysiology of Curitiba prismatica (D. Legrand) Salywon and Landrum leaves was evaluated in a fragment of Mixed Ombrophilous Forest in faxinal system, in Rebouças Municipality, PR, Brazil. This study aimed at analyzing polyphase induction (OJIP curve) and slow kinetics of chlorophyll a fluorescence, besides quantifying photosynthetic pigment levels in trees developed under full sun and understory environments in the four seasons of the year. Chlorophyll a fluorescence was analyzed with data of slow and rapid kinetics in previously dark adapted leaves, between 2015 and 2016. The parameters Fo, Fm, Fv/Fm, ABS/RC, PIABS by the OJIP test, photosynthetic efficiency, and electron transport rate were evaluated. The observed Fo and Fm values were significantly different (p<0.05), with the highest values in trees under full sun. The effect of seasonality on C. prismatica trees under full sun showed significant differences (p<0.05) in the summer when compared to other seasons, resulting in a higher Fm value, probably due to damages caused by photooxidation. For understory C. prismatica trees, no significant differences were observed among seasons. In the winter, similar results were obtained in the two environments. Chlorophyll a, b and total levels were significantly different (p<0.05) between the two environments throughout all seasons, with the highest values observed in understory trees, which were less sensitive to seasonal variations of chlorophyll a fluorescence. This study indicates that C. prismatica showed adaptive changes according to the environment.

Legrand) Salywon e Landrum foram avaliadas em um fragmento de Floresta Ombrófila Mista em sistema faxinal, no município de Rebouças-PR. O estudo consistiu da análise da indução polifásica (curva OJIP) e da cinética lenta da fluorescência da clorofila a, e da quantificação do teor de pigmentos fotossintéticos nas quatro estações do ano, desenvolvidas em ambiente a pleno sol e no subbosque. A análise da fluorescência da clorofila a foi realizada com dados da cinética lenta e da cinética rápida, em folhas previamente adaptadas ao escuro, realizadas nas quatro estações entre 2015 e 2016. Foram analisados os parâmetros Fo, Fm, Fv/Fm, ABS/RC, PIABS pelo teste OJIP, bem como a eficiência fotossintética e a taxa de transporte de elétrons. Os valores observados de Fo e Fm diferiram significativamente (p<0,05), com os maiores valores nas árvores que estavam a pleno sol. O efeito da sazonalidade para as árvores de C. prismatica que estavam a pleno sol demonstrou diferenças significativas (p<0,05) no verão comparado às demais estações, refletindo em um maior valor de Fm, possivelmente devido a danos causados por fotoxidação. Para os exemplares de C. prismatica em ambiente de sub-bosque não foi observado diferenças significativas entre as estações do ano. Durante o inverno, o ambiente a pleno sol apresentou resultados semelhante ao sub-bosque. O teor de clorofila a, b e total diferiram significativamente (p<0,05) entre os dois ambientes ao longo de todas as estações do ano, sendo os maiores valores observados no ambiente de sub-bosque. Os indivíduos de C. prismatica em sub-bosque foram menos sensíveis às variações sazonais da fluorescência da clorofila a.
