Resumo: This article aims to highlight the repercussions of hematological cancer treatment on the living and health conditions of users accompanied by the Social Service of the Polydoro Ernani de São Thiago University Hospital of the Federal University of Santa Catarina – HU/UFSC. It is characterized by an exploratory field research with a qualitative approach, using critical social theory and the dialectical method as theoretical-methodological direction. The results, obtained through a semi-structured interview with 7 (seven) subjects, suggest that the treatment of hematological cancer interferes with the life and health conditions of the users, especially with regard to: dependence on care, family reorganization , adaptation of their daily activities and absence from work. Such indications further reinforce the importance of understanding health in its broad concept, and therefore, the guarantee of comprehensive and interdisciplinary care in the health area.

Caracteriza-se por uma pesquisa de campo, de caráter exploratório com abordagem qualitativa, utilizando a teoria social crítica e o método dialético como direção teórico-metodológica. Os resultados, obtidos por meio de entrevista semiestruturada com 7 (sete) sujeitos, sugerem que o tratamento de câncer hematológico interfere nas condições de vida e saúde das/os usuárias/os, principalmente no que diz respeito à: dependência de cuidados, reorganização familiar, adaptação de suas atividades diárias e afastamento do trabalho.
