Resumo: | This essay addresses the unequal sexual division of labor between men and women and its intensification in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has modified the social dynamics, with differentiated impacts for the genders, since, even in spaces where there is some kind of division of domestic work, the responsibility for such activities is still almost exclusive to women. We understand, therefore, that domestic work goes beyond the dimension of a domestic activity, configuring itself in a form of exploitation/oppression of millions of women in the sociability of capital. In our view, there is no possibility of thinking about the political and human emancipation of women without reviewing the distribution of domestic work equally between the sexes In this sense, demystifying domestic work as a "feminine attribute" and "labor of love" implies recognizing its political weight and its obstacles to real and substantial equality between the genders. |

The unequal distribution of domestic work between men and womenA desigual repartição do trabalho doméstico entre homens e mulheres Divisão sexual do trabalho. Trabalho doméstico.MulheresThis essay addresses the unequal sexual division of labor between men and women and its intensification in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has modified the social dynamics, with differentiated impacts for the genders, since, even in spaces where there is some kind of division of domestic work, the responsibility for such activities is still almost exclusive to women. We understand, therefore, that domestic work goes beyond the dimension of a domestic activity, configuring itself in a form of exploitation/oppression of millions of women in the sociability of capital. In our view, there is no possibility of thinking about the political and human emancipation of women without reviewing the distribution of domestic work equally between the sexes In this sense, demystifying domestic work as a "feminine attribute" and "labor of love" implies recognizing its political weight and its obstacles to real and substantial equality between the genders.O presente ensaio aborda a desigual divisão sexual do trabalho entre homens e mulheres e sua agudização em face da pandemia de Covid-19, que modificou a dinâmica social, com impactos diferenciados para os gêneros, uma vez que, mesmo em espaços em que há algum tipo de repartição do trabalho doméstico, a responsabilização por tais atividades ainda é quase que exclusiva das mulheres.
